Giving New Life to Old Business Computers with DaaS

With desktop as a service (DaaS), the size of your organization, the age of your business computers, and the nature of your industry don’t really matter because you’re working off of the Cloud. For example, with Nuvestack’s DaaS, all of your apps are running on Nuvestack’s servers. So it doesn’t matter if you connect via an old XP computer or a brand new smart phone – you’re still getting lightening-fast speed and amazing security everytime.

We knew this when Ballet West approached us about a problem they wanted to solve – namely that as a non-profit, their technology wasn’t the latest and greatest (it was donated by other companies). And their IT guy, Jack Stahl, whom I’ve worked with closely on the project, was actually their ticketing manager. He’s an amazing person and extremely capable, but working these two very taxing jobs meant something had to give, particularly because IT tasks were consuming about 80 percent of his time.

So rather than steer Ballet West toward all new computers, which Jack would still have to maintain, we recommended they move to DaaS. The resulting solution gave them speed, security and the flexibility to compute on their own devices (known as BYOD), access to their desktops wherever and whenever they needed it and so much more. They were even able to drop their seven-year-old server entirely.

You can read more about the results Ballet West is seeing from their switch to DaaS in this success story, How Ballet West Is Giving New Life to Outdated Business Computers.
